The Open Zine Archive at Artefact Projects June 2018

The Open Zine Archive was initially a day long event at Artefact Projects curated by myself representing Cross City Zine, that eventually got extended until 23rd of June. 

It was an opportunity for the public to come and explore Pete Ashton's incredible and expansive collection of zines, comics and art books. 

Before pursuing a career in contemporary art, Pete used to regularly review small press publications, along with Jez Higgins, they took part in a discussion on Saturday 16th in which they were able to paint a picture of the creativity and community of the scene throughout the 1990's

The Open Zine Archive hoped to observe zine-making throughout the 1990's and discuss how the culture and landscape has developed in the year 2018.
