Birmingham Museum's Collection Centre is freakishly big. It has the biggest collection of social history in the country and I helped out over the summer tidying data on their, and I don't use this word lightly, GIGANTIC spreadsheets listing materials, objects and object numbers. There was something rather surreal scrolling through a list of 500 dices double checking the primary and secondary materials:

Lucky for me, I was in my element. Long, slow repetitive days kept me engaged because I love history and collections and detail. knowing that I was helping preserve and document this collection for future generations was a privilege. Even after I'm pretty sure I saw a human skeleton while I was being shown around the warehouses!
